Manufacturer and exporter of electric dishwashers from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), the Kingdom has released a new energy and water efficiency standard SASO 3029:2023 for electric dishwashers.
The implementation schedule of the new standard is detailed as follows:
February 10, 2023: The Saudi electric dishwasher standard SASO 3029:2023 was published in the Saudi Official Gazette.
April 2, 2023: SASO updated the Saudi Standards and Labeling (SLS) platform to accept registration of energy efficiency labels for electric dishwashers under SASO 3029:2023.
January 1, 2024: Local manufacturers and KSA Customs will enforce SASO 3029:2023 Minimum Energy Performance Standards (MEPS) - Phase 1 for electric dishwashers.
January 1, 2025: Implementation of MEPS - SASO 3029:2023 Phase 1 for existing electric dishwashers in KSA markets and warehouses to ensure compliance for existing electric dishwashers in KSA markets and warehouses.
January 1, 2026: Implementation of MEPS - SASO 3029:2023 Phase 2 for local manufacturers and KSA Customs.
Electric dishwashers are part of the SASO IECEE Recognition Certificate (SIRC) scheme.
To avoid any issues with registration with SABER and customs at KSA, please make sure to update your SIRC technical file with SASO to demonstrate compliance with standard SASO 3029:2013, in accordance with the above execution schedule.
